#89 Talbot Street Art Fair

Julie and I always wonder why so many cool events are packed into one weekend! We get exhausted doing it all. Saturday morning we ventured to the Talbot Street Art Fair. Not only does it have lots of talented artists displaying their creations, it's FREE. I usually look for birthday/Christmas gifts and this time I was successful for one person on my list.

#88 Skinny Water

While enjoying ourselves at the Italian Festival, two women walked by with Skinny Water. I have never heard of it before, but feel that I would be an excellent spokesperson for this product. "Skinny Water - it worked for me!"

#87 Italian Festival

June is festival month! This time it was the Holy Rosary Italian Festival just south of downtown Indy. I've been going to this for several years. Great food and people watching. My friends and I usually hang out in the park across from the church and head back into the crowd to replenish our plates. We lucked out with no rain Friday. The gang had a fun night!

#86 Zachary Levi Part Deux

I guess I'm a little behind, but I just found out today that Zachary Levi (Post No. 27) is a Christian! I like him even more!

#85 Strawberry Festival

Today is the 45th Annual Christ Church Cathedral Strawberry Festival. For $6 you can get "The Works" - homemade shortcake, strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream. It's a short walk from my office to Monument Circle for this tasty treat. This is the church's largest fundraiser. Proceeds go to community outreach programs at the local, national and international levels. Some work friends and I went today at lunch and took in the sites of the Circle. Wonderful! #84 Celebrity Deaths

Several years ago I made a startling discovery that when I left Indianaoplis for vacation or work, celebrities died. My first memory of this was June 1999 when JFK Jr. died when I was in Kansas City. Most recently was Dennis Hopper, who died last weekend when I was in Baltimore. Below are others I remember:

Steve Irwin (1999 - New York)
Paul Newman (2008 - Hawaii)
Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett (2009 - Virginia)
George Carlin (2008 - southern Indiana)

I know there are more than this, I just can't remember. I will add to it as they come back to me.

#83 Booster Seat?

I have no idea how old I was when I had to use a booster seat (five?). Although they may not have had car seats back then. While in Baltimore we saw this sign for booster seats so Phil and I had to stop for a Kodak moment.

#82 Lacrosse Championships

Two Indy friends (Michelle and Phil) and I traveled to Baltimore over Memorial Day Weekend for the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships. Baltimore is a fun city and you can walk everywhere - the Inner Harbor, M&T Bank Stadium, Camden Yards, and the surrounding neighborhoods (including Fells Point). All three divisions have their championships here, with the Division I semis Saturday, Divisions II and III finals Sunday, and the Division I final Monday. Notre Dame made it to the final game but lost in OT to Duke (aka Puke). Tufts won the DIII championship and C.W. Post won the DII championship. Other highlights include the following:

The poodle in the Inner Harbor welcome center. I have no comment.

Fells Point. Great restaurants/shops/bars. We hit Max's and I drank my first full glass of beer in 12 years (most beer tastes nasty). Lindeman's Framboise is a Belgian raspberry beer that is awesome. The last time I had it was when I lived in Seattle.

Inner Harbor. It's a fun spot to walk around - lots of shops/restaurants/street performers. You can also take a Water Taxi to Fells Point, Canton, and Fort McHenry.

Last but certainly not least - LACROSSE.

It was an aweseome weekend. I saw some old friends in Baltimore and had a great time with Phil and Michelle. Great weather, great games, great times!

#81 Aaron's Graduation

Aaron graduated from high school last Friday...and I missed it! I planned a trip over Memorial Day weekend last December/January(?) and didn't even think about when his graduation might be. What a great Auntie I am! One of his Facebook friends tagged him in a photo, so this is the only one I have so far. He is in the background on the far left. I have no idea who the other two kids are. Congratulations Aaron!!
